Q: How do I install/configure the proxy-server?

A: If you have never worked with proxy-server, please, read our article “What is a proxy-server and how does it work?”. There you will find the detailed instruction about installation and settings of a proxy-server.

Q: And what about traffic? Does the proxy-server provide for traffic record?

A: Of course! Our proxy-server records the traffic according to sent/received information, for each user and his/her ip address. You can export the statistics to Excel document and print it.

Q: Task: I have 2 computers; on the first one there is a proxy (and it is connected to the Internet), on the second one there is a mail program (Mozilla Thunderbird), set to the mail box of e1 web-site. What settings should I use in SLAVA proxy-server to get my mail through this mail-box?

A: You should use Portmapper. By the example of The bat! You should do the following:

1. Set redirect to pop and smtp servers (As an example we take mail.ru). Your actions:

a)Add redirect with the following parameters:

Local port: from 1000 to 65535 (for example, 9110)
Remote IP/host: (for example, pop.mail.ru)
Remote port: 110

b)Add redirect with the following parameters:

Local port: from 1000 to 65535 (for example, 9025)
Remote IP/host: (for example, smtp.mail.ru)
Remote port: 25

2. Configure The bat!

a) in Transport section (in properties of the mail box):

pop-server: IP_OF_PROXY_SERVER
smtp-server: IP_OF_PROXY_SERVER

b) ports on default (the bat! Properties mail administration inset):

smtp: 9025
pop3: 9110
